Eight Gigs: Doofy Doo

Sun., Sept. 27, 8 p.m., Starlite Lounge, $6

Let's be honest: Doofy Doo is a weird name. But it's nowhere near as weird as the performance. Totally different at every show, it's the one-man-project of Drew Walker, who many Sacramentans will know as a go-to sound man and the bassist for experimental rock group Gentleman Surfer. For Doofy Doo, he mixes electronics, sampling, audio collage art, improvisation and out-of-this-world insanity to create a unique (usually themed) show. For Sunday's show, he's going to collaborate with several local musicians—one at a time, and in five-minute segments. The theme will be sex. Don't miss this mindfuck. 1517 21st Street, https://doofydoo.bandcamp.com.
