Eight Gigs: Angie Stone

Wed., Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m., Crest Theatre, $35-$55

Angie Stone is an R&B queen known for her gold albums Black Diamond and Mahogany Soul, the latter of which includes the soul-driven single “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” which sampled its beat from “Back Stabbers” by ’50s Philadelphia trio the Ojays. Between her time in the studio and touring to promote her albums, Stone has been flexing her acting skills as well, appearing in TV sitcom Girlfriends and on Broadway, starring as Big Mama Morton in Chicago alongside R&B artist Brian McKnight. On top of all that, Stone released her seventh studio album, Dream, in 2015. 1013 K Street, www.facebook.com/realangiestone.
