Ecumenical, Interdenominational & Interfaith Exchange

Initiative 2004-2005

The Interfaith Service Bureau in cooperation with the Sacramento News & Review would like to encourage and assist in coordinating ecumenical, interdenominational and Interfaith exchanges of all kinds during the 2004 to 2005 season. This process has already begun with Westminster Presbyterian, 1st United Methodist, SALAM, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Greek Orthodox faith communities participating in this year’s start. The hope is to have over 100 exchanges within the whole Sacramento community and to publish these in the 2005 A Call for Unity program on September 17th. Please give this initiative your full excited support.

Each congregation or faith is invited to give a three-minute presentation on their faith. This is going to be a very fun, open and informal event, where youth can feel free to interact in activities, such as basketball, chatting, games, and a delicious dinner sponsored by Youth for Better Understanding (YBU). Please select up to 10 youth from your congregation to participate in this event. For details contact Durriya Syed 916-772-6351 or ummezata@yahoo.com. This event is sponsored by SALAM, ISB and YBU.

This will be the first time that the pastors of the three Sacramento area parishes have ever participated in a pulpit exchange.
