E-40

7 p.m., Dec. 19, Ace of Spades, $28

There's plenty more behind the man responsible for the mainstream club banger “Tell Me When To Go.” Vallejo-based rapper and hyphy movement godfather E-40 has released more than 20 albums to date, featuring collaborations with Too Short, Schoolboy Q, Mac Dre and more. His latest two releases, Sharp on All 4 Corners (Corner 1 and Corner 2), hit stores December 9. Outside his success in the rap game, E-40 is also a man of many investments and ventures. He's authored (but didn't publish) a book, E-40's Book of Slang, owned a Fatburger chain in Pleasanton, Calif. (now closed), and now has a line of fine wines with flavors like Mangoscato and Function Red Blend. 1417 R Street, www.facebook.com/e40.
