Archer Prewitt, another charmer in post-rock’s squint squad.

Archer Prewitt is a graphic artist who’s also played guitar in such luminary Chicago bands as the Sea and Cake and the Coctails. He brings a graphic designer’s attention to detail, along with the ability to consciously manipulate form and space and color, to his hyper-smart reinventions of golden age (’60s, ’70s) pop music, examples of which can be found on Three, his latest album for the Chicago-based Thrill Jockey label. Prewitt will play the Capitol Garage this Friday, August 9, at 8 p.m., along with the Stratford Four and the Prom. The Garage, as always, is located at 1427 L St., cover is $8, and people under 21 are most welcome.
