Del Paso Heights is a mystery. Despite its reputation for being the neighborhood that Sacramento forgot, the area is host to a myriad of exciting treasures (folk art and comedy at Gallery Horse Cow, poetry performance at Matrix Gallery, Sacramento Ice Theatre, etc.) Del Paso’s latest offering? Saturday’s 7th Annual Unity Festival, a celebration dedicated to fostering harmony between our community’s various cultures. The Festival includes crafts, children’s activities and games, delicious food and an extensive entertainment lineup. From 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., local youth will perform such diverse talents as traditional Hmong dance, Philippine martial arts, juggling, praise dancing, DJ-ing, break dancing and color guard formations. The event can be found in and around the Community Center, 810 Grand Ave. Call 591-1050 for more information.
