Dance, dance revolution

Teen a Go Go

Those who grew up on the likes of Shindig!, American Bandstand or even Dance Party USA, will get a kick out of this homage to the teen dance shows of yesteryear. Teen a Go Go chronicles the Beatles-driven cultural youthquake by focusing in on the 1960s-era Fort Worth, Texas, garage-rock bands who played the popular nightclub by the same name. The documentary, directed by Melissa Kirkendall, features interviews and music clips from the likes of Lenny Kaye and the Nuggets, Bruce Channel, the Elites, and Deacons. There’s also a Beatles featurette that includes archival footage of the Fab Four performing deep in the heart of Texas.
