The Wiener Nationals—where every dog’s a wiener!
Forget about the Kings. Arco Arena is about to host some real sporting action—the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals. Up to 64 of Sacramento’s longest and fastest dachshunds (a.k.a. wiener dogs!) will compete in a race for fame, fortune and dog food. Sacramento’s winning wiener will receive $250 and a trip to San Diego for the national competition, including a VIP party for the owner and a day at a “dog spa” for the athlete. Registration for the race begins at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Arco Arena parking lot.
