Countdown to Earth Day

What have you done for Earth lately?

What have you done for Earth lately?

Last week, I urged you to help clean creeks for Creek Week 2003. This week, I’m encouraging you to join the California State Parks Foundation Earth Day 2003 Restoration and Cleanup. Think of it as spring-cleaning for your summer playground. If we all spend a little energy this Saturday planting trees, restoring trails, installing recycling bins and picking up trash, we’ll have beautiful parks to enjoy all summer long. Get some exercise, start your tan, educate your children about nature and give something back to the community. Bring gloves, sunscreen, water and sturdy shoes. Meet at 8 a.m. at the Folsom Powerhouse State Park or at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 49 and Old Forest Hill Bridge in Placer County. Call (888) 98-PARKS or visit www.calparks.org for more information.
