Early last year, the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Granite Bay offered its services to BloodSource, California’s largest independent blood bank, to help in the bank’s efforts to raise money. The organization needed a new BloodMobile, so the gallery held a group exhibition and donated a portion of the profits to aid in the cause. It turned out to be a great success: BloodSource got its new vehicle. This year, the gallery (located at 4120 Douglas Boulevard, No. 305) decided to do it again. Its show, titled Close To The Heart, features many of the gallery’s artists, including Terry Pappas, Kathy O’Leary, Sandy Delehanty and Kira Stewart, showing works of art that have the heart as the subject. The show runs through February 27. And this time around, the actual BloodMobile purchased using funds from last year’s event will be in the parking lot the day of the Second Saturday reception (February 14, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.) so gallery-goers can give blood before viewing the unique show.
