Sam I Jam—a superior deejay name, right? It's like Party McFly, except not dumb. Anyway, Sam's jam is the weekly Le Twist Tuesdays, an evening of accessible but diverse chill tunes curated by friends that decided to put on a dance night, because they just wanted to share music with each other. Twist got its start on K Street at Dive Bar—guest deejays, live electronic acts, mermaids—but this year, it moved to Midtown's LowBrau, where it's truly turned into one of the grid's more popular weeknight affairs. The crowd is as eclectic as the tunes blasted by founder Sam and host deejays Adam J, Taylor Cho, Roger Carpio and their guests. What I like about it is that it's probably the only night in town where darkwave deejays spin for neon-haired kids sipping half-liters of German Weihenstephaner beer—with a dash of Serge Gainsbourg. Bon sang! Tuesday nights at LowBrau, 1050 20th Street; www.facebook.com/letwisttuesdays. N.M.
