Sleeping Beauty, no CPAP machine necessary.

These days, the prince would drag Beauty into Kaiser’s sleep lab the minute she went comatose. She’d be tested for concussions, narcolepsy or, at the very least, chronic fatigue syndrome. But in the bygone days of castles, kings and evil fairies, a kiss was all she needed to shake off 100 years of bewitched slumber. Travel back to a time of magic and romance with the Fair Oaks Theatre Festival’s production of Sleeping Beauty. Experience Beauty’s adventures, aided by her handsome prince and her endearingly inept fairy godmother, Tootie. (No relation to Kim Fields.) To accommodate the youngest audience members, the century-long saga has been abridged to one act. Afterward, the characters will be available for autographs and chats with their young fans. Catch the show at 10 a.m. or noon on Saturdays through July 27. Tickets are $3. Fair Oaks Clubhouse, Village Park, California and Temescal streets, Fair Oaks. Call 966-3683 for more information.
