Basket case

Yes, the Peeps and chocolate rabbits in the supermarket are tempting, but surely there’s a better choice for Easter candy. I asked chocolatier Ginger Elizabeth Powers, who owns Couture Chocolates (www.couturechocolates.net) and is a pastry chef at Masque Ristorante, what she would like to find in her Easter basket:

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs and mini-Snickers. “Those are the only kinds of candy I’ll eat off the shelf.”

2. Pear, champagne and peach Jelly Belly jelly beans.

3. “A really nice little box of chocolates from La Maison du Chocolat, out of New York.”

4. “And of course a Couture Chocolates bunny or hand-painted chocolate egg.”
