Audio Out Send

… Or Does It Explode?

Some bands disappear from the local radar only to reappear later in a much improved form. So it is with Lazy Bones, a band that relocated to Oakland, changed its name to Audio Out Send and then released one of the most compelling semi-local CDs this reviewer has heard in a good, long while. While Lazy Bones showed a fair amount of psychedelic influences in its performances, Audio Out Send (www.audiooutsend.com) has distilled these influences into more-compact musical moments. There’s a palpable Radiohead influence here, but perhaps more important is a nod toward the progressive indie rock of Death Cab for Cutie and the psychedelic pop of Neutral Milk Hotel. The overall result is a beautiful, moving album.
