This is the weakest Disney cartoon in a long while. It ranks down there with The Aristocats
and The Rescuers
. Michael J. Fox provides the voice for the film’s central hero—a budding scientist who believes Atlantis exists and has a decent idea of where to find it. He then journeys to the lost city, a place as exciting as Denver. The animation, produced by the directors who put together Beauty and the Beast
, seems a bit sloppy by Disney standards. There are no standout characters, and Fox’s voice can be grating at times. Severely lacking in the wonder department.
