America’s Sweethearts

Rated 3.0 If you’re looking for a good, silly romance with decent jokes, this one’s pretty good, as long as you don’t take it as anything remotely realistic. Two of America’s favorite movie stars (played by John Cusack and Catherine Zeta-Jones) have split up and must now attend a press junket for their last film together. Zaniness ensues as Cusack falls in love with Kiki (Julia Roberts), his former wife’s sister and assistant. Yes, the movie is stupid, but Cusack and Roberts are cute, and Crystal hasn’t been this funny in a long, long time. Christopher Walken is great in a small role as a wacko film director. A nice diversion.
