Underworld

Rated 2.0 While Kate Beckinsale scorches eyeballs as a vinyl-clad vampire battling a legion of werewolves, the film surrounding her is often quite horrible. Made on a relatively low budget, and fairly impressive looking all things considered, it is saddled with horrid dialogue and a slow-death pacing that makes it feel five hours long. There are a few good werewolf transformations, but most of the vampire stuff is unintentionally funny. So, kudos to the wardrobe department for creating that Beckinsale outfit, but big boos for just about everybody else involved with this mess. There’s a good premise here, though, and perhaps the planned sequel will deliver on it.
