The Rundown

Rated 3.0 After scoring big with The Scorpion King, The Rock does a nice job establishing himself as an action hero with this semi-enjoyable jungle yarn about a guy (The Rock) chasing down a rich man’s son (Sean William Scott) so he can retire from bounty hunting and open a restaurant. The plans get scuttled when an eccentric miner (Christopher Walken) refuses to let the son leave his land until he reveals the whereabouts of an ancient artifact. The previews make this one look a lot better than it actually is, but The Rock is a durable star, and some of the action sequences do deliver. While I expected great things from Walken in this one, his funny moments are often followed by stretches where he looks extremely tired. Some of the jokes get moldy fast, but the overall package ends up being worth a look-see.
