Lazy, lazy days

Groove to “rootz fusion” reggae at a free Silver Peak concert July 27.

Reggae is played and the world slows down, it seems. Life gets languid, and it really seems like everything will be all right. After a nutty week of work and traffic, what better way to spend a Saturday than sipping brews and grooving to reggae at Silver Peak Restaurant & Brewery? Portland band Earth Force weaves roots music and dance beats, African tribal and new wave ambient into a mellow, danceable "rootz fusion" sound everyone can love. To partake in the lovin', head for Silver Peak’s lower parking lot, 124 Wonder St., on July 27. "It’s a fun way to thank our many patrons for their support and friendship and to invite new people to the Peak," says co-owner Trent Schmidt. "We hope everyone who comes out enjoys the music, brews and fun. We sure will." The music kicks off at 6 p.m. The tunes are free; you pay only for beer and grub. For more information, call 324-1864.
