Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Rated 3.0

While this might be the weakest in the treasured film series, it’s still a great time. Harrison Ford returns, all 65 years of him, to play the professor with a fondness for fedoras and whips. This time out, he’s trying to return some kooky sci-fi skull prop to some ancient alien tomb, or something like that. It’s all a bit silly, but there’s no doubt that director Steven Spielberg knows his way around action set pieces, and those sequences do deliver. It’s also nice to see Karen Allen back as Marion Ravenwood, and Shia LaBeouf makes for a great Indy sidekick. The best thing about the movie is seeing Ford having fun again. He hasn’t looked this excited in a movie since the last Indiana Jones film 19 years ago.
