Gibbons attacks Reid

Gov. Jim Gibbons has decided to stop trying to defend his own record against other candidates for governor and run against U.S. Sen. Harry Reid instead.

The governor, who last year asked Reid to get federal money for the state and thanked Reid “for your commitment in helping our neighbors who are struggling during this economic downturn,” and as recently as June “applauded Sen. Reid’s assistance with Nevada’s renewable energy future,” this month issued a flurry of news releases denouncing his former friend.

With headlines like “REID SHOULD READ BEFORE HE CRUSHES NEVADA WORKING FAMILIES,” Gibbons’ releases echoed attacks by other GOP figures against Reid in the wake of the Senate health care votes.
