Issue: March 01, 2018

Hello,

Welcome to this week's Reno News & Review.

After a January of hiking in shirtsleeves and a February in which snowfall looked as novel as it does in October, I keep half-forgetting what time of year it is. But, like clockwork, we published theater writer Jessica Santina's spring theater preview this week, and there's a lot coming up. For starters, Good Luck Macbeth has new digs, GLM and Bruka Theatre are collaborating on a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and University of Nevada Reno's Department of Theater and Dance is fixing to set Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in Black Rock City. Dig into the current issue for more theater news—especially if you want a reminder that a strong performing arts season and balmier weather are both coming up. (Though, I offer no guarantees about that second one.)

Also in this week's issue, we look back at Never Ender's early years. The gallery/boutique is closing soon, and during its 13 years in business, it's meant a lot to artists, designers and students. Check out the news section to learn about Janine Hansen, the "matriarch of Nevada's oldest third political party," and if you want to know what's going on in music venues, lecture halls and knitting clubs, head straight to the calendar and concert grid.

Thanks for reading.
