Wife arrested for murder

Durham man dies after being shot in the head

Butte County sheriff’s deputies have arrested Cynthia Alexandra Dubose, 40, and charged her with murder in the shooting death of her husband, Montgomery Dubose, 44, early Tuesday morning (May 18).

At 2:31 a.m., a family member living in the couple’s residence on Durnel Drive, in Durham, called 911 to report Dubose was bleeding and needed medical assistance, according to a news release.

Dubose died early that afternoon at Enloe Medical Center from a gunshot wound to the head.

While processing the crime scene Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies arrested Dubose’s wife for being in possession of a controlled substance, vehicle theft and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked her into the Butte County Jail. Later that evening they charged her with murder.
