Want to vote? Register

America will be electing a president this year, and some say it’s a pretty important choice to make. So, if you want to vote in the California presidential primary Feb. 5 and wish to receive official election material, you have until Monday (Jan. 7) to register.

You can pick up a voter registration card at the post office, the DMV, local libraries, city clerks’ offices and the county Elections Office. Or you can go to the county clerk-recorder’s Web site at http://clerk-recorder.buttecounty.net, click on a link to the secretary of state’s site, and download a form.

Final deadline for registering is Jan. 22. You won’t get the voter’s pamphlet, but you will get a postcard directing you to a polling place.
