Eyes of nation on Inskip

A Paradise man and his three children remained lost in the snowy woods near Inskip as the CN&R went to press. Search-and-rescue teams from across the state renewed their efforts Wednesday morning (Dec. 19)—four days after Frederick Dominguez, his daughter and two sons went missing on a quick trip up the Skyway to find a Christmas tree. Their plight has received national media attention.

Update: Searchers located the family Wednesday afternoon after a helicopter crew, on its last pass over the mountain area, spotted the word "help" written in the snow and the Gonzalezes nearby. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office reported that the father and children had found refuge in a culvert and suffered only minor frost-bite injuries. They were well enough later in the day to talk to CNN’s Anderson Cooper via remote video feed—just part of the coverage they’ve received.
