Trash into treasure

Don’t ditch your trash, Drop and Dash.

You have one more thing to do before you flee your apartment at the end of May. Stop at one of the city of Chico’s two Drop & Dash locations today, May 27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and hand over all those household items that end up clogging up the county landfill each year. The city and its partners will then donate, recycle and properly dispose of your unwanted goods, and you can drive away for the summer with a clean conscience. The slogan being used for this initiative is “Drop & Dash; Divert, Don’t Trash,” which seems like a mouthful until you put it to music. Try it to the tune of “Another One Bites the Dust”: Drop and dash/Diver-ert don’t trash. You gotta admit, it’s catchy. Kind of makes you want to not throw your couch into Big Chico Creek.
