The best buzzer …

Ashley Park, Shabby Car & Arnica Sync
Moxie’s, Wednesday, Aug. 1 • 6 p.m.

Ashley Park hails from Vancouver, B.C., and features singer/songwriter/musician Terry Miles. Musically, such diverse ground as dirges and pop jazz are suggested in Miles’ arrangements, his quietly quavering voice reminiscent of both Roger Waters and John Lennon. Promoting its latest CD, The American Scene (pictured is inside art from the recording), the pseudo-band (or however you define a ‘band’ that can consist of one or more members) appears at Moxie’s on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Also on the indie bill are Shabby Car and Chico’s own Arnica Sync. Dunno if there’s a cover charge; call to find out. Moxie’s Café & Gallery, 128 Broadway. 345-0601.
