Who’s packin'?

Concealed-weapons permits, which allow citizens to carry concealed firearms, are easier to obtain in rural counties than urban ones. Of the state’s 58 counties, Butte County is somewhat average in that about one in every 205 citizens is licensed to carry, as opposed to San Francisco County, where only one in 97,091 residents is legal to pack heat.
