Reno 911!: Miami

Rated 1.0

Seriously, one of the least amusing comedies I’ve seen in years. The police force of the Comedy Central farce go to a police convention in Miami and, after every other cop in the city is quarantined in the hall, find themselves drafted to patrol the streets in the interim. Usually, in a comedy this would be the set-up to a series of amusing fish-out-of-water vignettes, but as played out here the script seems more like badly rehearsed impromptu comedy sketches, with punch lines arbitrarily jumbled and mumbled. Without exception, each of the cast members are singularly unappealing, and the wretchedness of the affair doesn’t even engender any sympathy for the actors. They knew what they were signing up for when they read the script, assuming that there was even a script when this mess started shooting. Which isn’t all that unlikely seeming.
