Pro-Palestine protest

Local activist group takes to the streets to raise awareness, demand end to support of Israel

Members of the Chico Palestine Action Group set up along the eastern entrance to the Chico State campus Monday (June 12) in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Israeli entry into the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip during the Six-Day War in 1967. The local group, which opposes Israel’s actions, hoped to raise awareness and “demand the U.S. end its political, military and economic support for Israel’s occupation and subjugation of the Palestinian people,” according to a press release.
