Man visits cops in stolen car

Yep, he was arrested and taken to Butte County Jail

Last Thursday (Oct. 24), around 12:30 p.m., a man walked into the Chico Police Department for personal business and ended up arrested instead.

According to a Chico Police Department press release, Curtis Lang, 58, had driven to the department in a stolen vehicle and parked in the lot just outside the station.

After Lang arrived, an officer recognized him “from previous contacts” and spoke with him outside, the release states. That officer checked the vehicle’s license plate, which dispatch confirmed as stolen from Chico. Lang was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and transported to the Butte County Jail. Chico PD stored the vehicle and reported that it would be returned to its owner.
