I witness

Last week at The Naked Lounge downtown I politely asked you to please not pet my service dog (I’m in a wheelchair, and my canine helper wears a red vest with three please-don’t-pet-me patches), and you totally glared at me and made some snide comment. Hot tip: Service dogs are not around to amuse the able-bodied. They are important helpers who increase the independence of people with diasiblities. We don’t have them because we want to be endlessly harassed by bored people who like dogs. Petting a service dog who is on duty (i.e., out in public) messes up their training and is rude.
