Hardcore patriots on the rise

More Americans today say they are extremely patriotic

If you’ve seen more red, white and blue around lately, it’s probably not your imagination. A recent poll indicates that the number of Americans who consider themselves “extremely patriotic” has climbed above levels found even during the months after 9/11. More than 1,000 adults—contacted at random by telephone in June—participated in the survey. Here is the breakdown of how patriotic people consider themselves by percentages in five polls between 1994 and 2010.
