Two progressive Chico organizations celebrate three decades of service
It is probably as much a testimony to the citizens of Chico and Butte County as to the organizations themselves that a feisty and influential environmental outfit and a women’s health clinic that provides abortions have survived three decades in a notoriously conservative neck of the state.
But they have, affecting the lives of individuals and the policies of government. The people behind the Feminist Women’s Health Center and the Butte Environmental Council are for the most part pure in their devotion to the cause. They certainly don’t do it for the money.

Much has changed and much has stayed the same since the Feminist Women’s Health Center started 30 years ago
