Giants spectacle

Frigid temperatures on Tuesday (Jan. 11) didn’t discourage folks from heading to downtown Chico for a glimpse of the San Francisco Giants’ World Series trophy. Thousands of people—mostly fans—swarmed City Plaza to have their picture taken with the iconic award. A line snaked around nearly the entire plaza during the trophy’s brief stop on its tour, which started last week in the Bay Area. It will go all the way to New York City before heading back home for the first home game of the season in early April.
