Drive past the past …

You may well remember former Chico band Slow Car Crash and its founding member and singer Omarr Escoffie (bottom right). Escoffie took the group down to L.A. over a year ago to try their hand at the big time. Now, however, Escoffie is playing bass alongside former Live member Adam Kowalczyk (top left) in a group called Adam and the Weight with drummer Brent Arcement (top right) and guitarist Michael Anderson (bottom left). You can get a look at them at Mr. Lucky, 319 Main St., in downtown Chico. The band has a new, self-titled three-song CD out—Adam and the Weight, available via e-mail by contacting adamnthew8@aol.com.
