Critics warm on promotion

NBC’s Green Week proved hit and miss with critics across the nation, who tuned into the company’s eco-themed programming ranging from creative to ham-handed.

Last week, the media giant aired seven days, a solid 150 hours, of environmentally themed content across its television channels and other properties on everything from news and sports to daytime soaps and prime-time TV. One of the better efforts came from 30 Rock, which brought in the big guns with former Friends star David Schwimmer in a guest role and a cameo by former Vice President Al Gore.

However, attempts by The Office and reality weight-loss show The Biggest Loser proved to be pretty lame, according to bloggers and critics. On the latter show, the theme consisted of overweight contestants lugging soda cans to a recycling bin during one of their challenges.
