Catch that thief!

Chico PD makes arrests in bizarre thefts

The Chico Police Department had an unusual afternoon last Wednesday (June 15). According to a press release, it got a call from a couple in the middle of moving who said their car—and the flatbed trailer attached to it, which was loaded with all their belongings—had been stolen.

Half an hour later, police located the stolen property in another residence, most of it already unpacked. The victim’s wedding dress, in fact, was found hanging in the closet. Police arrested Marci Barker for possession of stolen property.

While officers were at Barker’s residence, they noticed a man who “looked like Col. Sanders” drive by in a gray van covered in Rico’s Tamales stickers. Minutes later, CPD dispatch received a call that a van matching that description had been stolen. Jon Gregory Davis (pictured) was arrested on suspicion of both vehicle thefts.
