Blasphemy

Douglas Preston

Douglas Preston has found something scarier than the monsters and serial killers he usually terrifies us with: religion. As usual, Preston brings together more than a dozen eccentric characters, this time twisting their individual stories until they intertwine in the biggest picture of them all: The Big Bang. When the voice of God is inadvertently discovered hidden in the essence of the universe’s creation, the inevitable follows. And what else can come from the Word of God except murder, deception and a sinning televangelist? Throughout the novel, Preston builds the blasphemous question: If science has all the answers to religion, then is science our new religion? But by the end of the novel our very humble author presents his own answer to society’s new religion: literary fiction.
