Bears in the park

Black bears are exploring the edges of Chico, the city reported this week. They have been sighted in Bidwell Park and around the Canyon Oaks Golf Course.

The bears are usually no problem, as long as they aren’t able to get into garbage cans or are fed by property owners, according to a press release. It recommends keeping garbage locked up, cleaning and storing outdoor grills and not leaving pet food out overnight.
