Ballot additions

Bonds and measures approved for voter consideration

Several bonds and a few local measures were approved for inclusion on the Nov. 6 general election ballot Tuesday (July 24) by the Butte County Board of Supervisors.

All of the bonds come from local school districts seeking funding for facilities and projects: $9.5 million for Biggs, $19.7 million for Durham, $61 million for Paradise, $4.5 million for Thermalito. All must be approved by 55 percent of voters.

In Chico, a ballot measure will ask whether City Council members should be limited to three consecutive terms. Oroville will have two ballot measures: an ordinance creating a cannabis business tax and another regarding a 1 percent sales tax. In Paradise, voters will consider extending the town’s existing half-percent sales tax for 10 years, through March 31, 2031. All these measures must be approved by majority vote.
