Yes to all the nos

For those with a long list of dietary restrictions that basically paralyze opportunities for indulging in baked goods, Butterfly Vegan Bakery has edible solutions. The bakery, which runs under the Cottage Food Operation Act in Davis, says yes to all the nos: no animal products, no cane sugar, no oils and, often, no gluten. Butterfly Vegan goods may be purchased at the Davis Food Co-op (620 G Street in Davis) or directly from the baker, Parvaneh Keivanfar—whose first name means “butterfly” in Farsi—in her lavender baker's coat, and her husband Alex Gray at the Square Tomatoes Crafts Fair (C and Third streets in Davis), the VA Hospital at Mather Farmers' Market (10535 Hospital Way in Mather) on Wednesdays, and the Midtown Farmers Market (20th and J streets) on Saturdays. Or Davisites can order their fill of pumpkin-filled cinnamon rolls or grapefruit chocolate-chip cookies at www.butterflyvegan.com, and Butterfly will deliver via bicycle.
