Welcome to the Capital Cannabis Guide

A resource for Sacramento-area medicinal-marijuana patients

2010 likely will go down as the year that changed cannabis in California. Proposition 19 will either pass or fail, but either way its impact will change the medicinal-marijuana landscape throughout the state.

Here in Sacramento, the city intends to approve its first-ever medical-cannabis dispensary ordinance by the year’s end, and most of the 39 clubs registered with the city hope to hang business permits at their collectives by December, too.

As Councilwoman Sandy Sheedy recently remarked at a Tuesday City Council meeting, we’ve come a long way.

Inside SN&R’s first-ever Capital Cannabis Guide, you’ll find interviews with club owners, patient’s rights advocates, stories about medical-referral experiences and favorite strains, and a comprehensive directory of medical-marijuana dispensaries, smoke shops, hydroponic suppliers, and doctors.

As anyone in the Sacramento cannabis industry knows, the 916 is a unique community. Here’s a guide to the players—for the patients.
