Hairstyling is no joking matter. In fact, it’s become a very serious business. Celebrities and average citizens spend big bucks to get their hair refined and sculpted by professionals who are armed with expensive scissors, blow-dryers and round brushes. It’s understandable that most people want mild trims, slight feathering or perfectly coifed up-dos. People generally want to look nice. But nice is boring as hell. Before scheduling that next hair appointment, check out Hillary Younglove’s art exhibit African Hair as Sculpture. Well, it’s more like African Hair as Sculpture as Oil Paintings, but it’ll give viewers insight into the variety of ways hair can be molded, including Afros, extreme Princess Leia-esque buns and a flat disk-shaped style that slightly resembles a UFO.
