The strangest dream

“Last night, I had the strangest dream,” a man sitting at a table at a Midtown al fresco cafe remarked. The scenes he proceeded to describe made the ears of a dog tethered to a pole nearby suddenly perk up. Perhaps it was the visions described, of furniture overstuffed to voluptuousness, or the zaftig goddesses that inhabited them. Something about the dream world sounded familiar, like the three-dimensional work of Miriam Davis, on display through April 25 at the John Natsoulas Gallery at 521 First Street in Davis (find In-N-Out Burger off the Russell Boulevard exit from Interstate 80, proceed north through the underpass, and you’re there). An opening reception will be held Saturday, April 3, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; bring your own pillow.
