The Secretions

The rock ’n’ roll world has often pondered the question: What would have happened if Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead had joined forces with a budding Elvis Costello & the Attractions? Wonder no more. The Secretions are here to supply the answer. This band blends balls-out punk rock with some stuff that’s downright poppy. As a bonus, a genuine sense of fun runs through this recording, both in the lyrics and from the sense you get that the band was having fun playing these tunes. From the opening crash of the title track to the closing bash of “We Secrete You Suck,” this album is one intense blast of old-school punk-rock adrenaline. I could highlight a number of songs, but I defy anyone to listen to “I Need Caffeine,” “Boner,” and “My Sister is a Tweeker” and not come away feeling these guys are one of the best punk bands in Sacramento. Fifteen songs in 26 minutes will make you a fan—’til death.
