Taxi

Rated 1.0 An inept cop (Jimmy Fallon) loses his driver’s license after totaling three cars, so when he stumbles across a bank robbery in progress, he has to commandeer a passing cab (driven by speed-demon Queen Latifah) to pursue the culprits, four sexy women who look like swimsuit models. Are you getting all this? The script by Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Jim Kouf, is adapted from a 1998 French film that was heavily influenced (says one reviewer) by TV’s Starsky and Hutch and The Dukes of Hazzard. If you think you’d be willing to watch Latifah in anything, here’s your chance to find out. Fallon has moments, but his character is such a whining wimp that he quickly wears thin. Directed in a frenzy by Tim Story, the movie is a lame and witless excuse to string a lot of stunt driving together.
