Several stories interlace when schools and businesses in Syracuse, N.Y., close for the day after a snowstorm. The mythical premise of this lame comedy is that “anything can happen” on this special occasion. That “anything” turns out to be a farting boy, a principal pelted by snowballs, a weather man (Chevy Chase) who needs a ratings boost and a girl (Michelle Trachtenberg) who’s stalking the notorious Snow Plow Man (Chris Elliott). Maudlin moments include a workaholic wife who rediscovers motherhood and a romantic triangle involving a teen (Mark Webber), his dream girl (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and a tomboy (Schuyler Fisk). Directed by Chris Koch.
