A few weeks ago, it looked like it was all over for Garbeau’s Dinner Theatre. The economic downturn had seen Garbeau’s attendance cut in half late last year, and pressure from the landlord was mounting.
However, once news of the danger of closure reached their audience, Garbeau’s found themselves once again with sold-out houses.
Still, the company is in a race to raise capital and meet obligations before a mid-March financial deadline, and so they’ve added some benefit concerts to the lineup. The first of these was last weekend’s performance by Because, a Beatles tribute, and included performances by a variety of local musical theater performers. The theater also is adding karaoke Thursdays. For more information, see Garbeau’s Web site at www.garbeaus.com.
