Sat., Aug. 03, the Cheeseballs

Harlow's Restaurant & Nightclub, 10 p.m., $15

Look past the cheesy name and discover a cover band that morphs itself into whatever it needs to be and always involves the audience, whether its playing The Fillmore, a wedding or an ice-skating exhibition. The Cheeseballs doesn't cover one act or genre. The troupe plays rock, disco, 1980s hits and the current top 40. This group of seven, which includes three primary lead singers and some very flashy clothes, crosses all genres and covers Louis Armstrong's “What a Wonderful World,” Garth Brooks' “Friends in Low Places” and Pitbull's “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” with equal aplomb. Bring some dancing shoes and identification for this 21-and-over event. 2708 J Street, www.cheeseballs.com.
